Ilha Grande, Brazil

I am not sure if it was the long days of travel or the immediate sense of relaxation that came over me after arriving, but it took me a good day and a half to realize that Ilha Grande has no cars.  Island time is definitely in full effect here and that is exactly what the doctor order for both Beau and I.  For being the biggest island off Brazil, we were pleasantly surprised to see how few people actually live here.Ilha Grande - pass the beer, importing goods Ilha Grande - view from town square Ilha Grande - one of the few main streets Ilha Grande - local kidBeautiful secluded beaches are as easy to find as Caprianas, which is the local adult beverage of choice.  For a few Real (Brazilian currency) you can take a boat to a beautiful beach to snorkle, surf, eat a great meal, or hire a guide to take you on a jungle trek.  Just remember your sunscreen and bug spray… and get ready for a great time Brazilian style!Ilha Grande - cove during boat ride Ilha Grande - drink salesman in canoe Ilha Grande - man's best friend on the canoe
