Behind the Scenes | Jepara Market Photo Shoot

We found a great location to stage more of our product at the morning market in Jepara, Central Java Indonesia.  Since it was later in the morning with some nasty light, we lucked out by finding a beautiful turquoise painted wall contrasted by bananas which happened to be north facing.  This is a great trick to find soft light in the middle of the day.

On par with the rest of our locations, after we set up the lights a large crowd quickly gathered around, they were also familiar with the term, “Action! Action!”  We payed for all this woman’s bananas for her to agree to be in our shot… Bananas anyone?  Also wanting some of the action, many chicken and duck farmers were negotiating to unload their inventory as well.  We graciously declined.  Maybe next time.

I like that boom on your light! Lighting on these shots turned out great. Looking forward to seeing shots of the product.

Thanks Sammy. These were just shots as we’re setting up the lighting, so our product pics should have a bit more even lighting. Sorry I missed you on Skype.
