Thien Hau Pagoda: Ho Chi Minh City, VietnamMeggan and I wanted to do a quick post on a pretty little temple in Ho Chi Minh City. The Thien Hau Pagoda is a Chinese temple built to honor the goddess of the sea. At this point, we seen many amazing temples, but this one had a unique vibe to it. We have not seen colors like this in the other temples we've been in, they made for some great images.Thien Hau Pagoda: Ho Chi Minh City, VietnamThien Hau Pagoda: Ho Chi Minh City, VietnamWe also liked the ambiance created from the thousands burning sticks of incense. Our guide told us that there is a limit to how many sticks each worshiper can burn, but most ignore the rule because the more sticks you burn the more luck they will bring. A little lady runs around and extinguishes fists full of incense to prevent the building burning down. All the smoke created this haze that swirled around the turquoise walls and fuchsia ribbons eventually settling in the soot stained rafters. It was a very peaceful little place, we really enjoyed visiting it.
