Good Food - South America

- An inventive black kalamata olive gnocchi pasta with a parma ham and tomato cream sauce at Paste e Vino ... in Valparaiso, Chile.  A very nice restaurant with wonderful pastas and sauces that surprised us.

- Did someone say Mashed Potatoes?  YES!  Perfect mashed potatoes, nicely cooked steak, and a salad that we had been craving for months at Parrilla Mi Viejo... in El Calafate, Argentina.  Great price point!

- More great meat at Don Julio ... in Palermo SoHo neighborhood Buenos Aires, Argentina.

- We had an amazing food adventure of a beautiful modern 5 course meal with wine pairings at the Bo Bo hotel ... in Palermo Soho neighborhood Buenos Aires, Argentina.  This meal was a thoughtful gift from our best friends for a wedding.  Thank you guys! 

- Did we say meat?  Yes, more.  Actually the best steak we had in all of South America (but don't tell anyone!) was at El Palenque ... in Montevideo, Uruguay.   

- If you are in the mood for yummy Thai green curry try Thai Brasil ... in Paraty, Brazil. 

Favorite Activities - South America

- A life time experience... hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru.  We did our tour threw GAP Adventures.  The porters were treated well and GAP gives back to their community.  GAP Adventures

- Trekking on Perito Mereno Glacier in Patagonia, Argentina.  You can book tours as soon as you get to the town of El Calafate.  There are agencies up and down the main street.  If you are worried about availability you could work threw your hotel.

- Boat ride adventure at Iguassu Falls in Brazil.  You can purchase your tickets for this adventure at the entrance to the National Park.

- Visiting Evita Tomb at the Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

- Attending a Boca Jr. Football (soccer for the US people) Game in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  You hotel can help you set this up.
